The method of determining internal forces at any cross section of links in mechanisms

In the paper it is introduced a method of determining internal forces at any cross section of the links of mechanisms. As known, so far it is used the method of D'Alembert, which consists of two steps, the determination of the acceleration states of links and the establishment of the equilibrium equations for the set of forces including the forces of inertia and the internal forces at the cross section. A. I. Lurie proposed a method of analytical mechanics for this problem.


Stability of cylindrical panel with variable thickness

A linear buckling analysis based on the small deflection theory is presented for the cylindrical panel with sinusoidal changes in the shell thickness. The buckling load for simply supported cylindrical panel around the periphery is defined by using the hybrid perturbation - Galerkin method. The influence of the thickness variation parameter on the critical loads is investigated.


Phenomenological model for determining velocity field of lpg jet in combustion chamber of direct injection S.I. engine

The results show that {3 is constant for steady jet but it is not the case for unsteady one. The model will enable us to calculate the velocity profiles of LPG jet after ending injection. This is necessary for research of stratified combustion in direct injection LPG SI engines.


A contribution to the dynamic simulation of robot manipulator with the software robotdyn

Robots manipulators are multibody systems with tree structures. In this paper the theoretical background of the computer program RobotDyn is presented. The program is developed using Lagrange's equations and Denavit-Hartenberg matrix. The dynamic simulation of the Robot SCARA with four degrees of freedom is considered as an example of application of the program RobotDyn.


Analysis of some nonlinear deterministic oscillators using extended averaged equation approach

The paper presents an application of extended averaged equation approach in investigating some nonlinear oscillation problems. The main idea of the method is briefly described and numerical simulations are carried out for some nonlinear oscillators. The results in analyzing oscillation systems with strong nonlinearity show advantages of the method.

Beam element for large displacement analysis of elasto plastic frames

The present paper develops a non-linear beam element for analysis of elastoplastic frames under large displacements. The finite element formulations are derived by using the co-rotational approach and expression of the virtual work. The Gauss quadrature is employed for numerically computing the element tangent stiffness matrix and internal force vector. A bilinear stress-strain relationship with isotropic hardening is adopted to update the stress.


A numerical analysis for some non - linear constitutive problems in solid mechanics

The paper deals with the application FEM for solving nonlinear constitutive problems in solid mechanics. The basis equations and algorithms of iterative processing are presented. Some programs written by languages Gibian and special operators in Castem 2000 are established.

On the elastoplastic stability problem of the thin round cylindrical shells subjected to complex loading processes with the various kinematic boundary conditions

In this paper, the elastoplastic stability of cylindrical shells simultaneously subjected to compression force along the generatrix and external pressure has been presented. Two types of considered kinematic boundary conditions are simply supported and clamped at the butt-ends. The expressions for determining the critical forces by using the Bubnov-Galerkin method [3] have been established. The sufficient condition of extremum for a long cylindrical shell also is considered. Some results of numerical calculation have been also given and discussed.


Higher order stochastic averaging method for mechanical systems having two degrees of freedom

Higher order stochastic averaging method is widely used for investigating single-degree-of-freedom nonlinear systems subjected to white and coloured random noises. In this paper the method is further developed for two-degree-of-freedom systems. An application to a system with cubic damping is considered and the second approximation solution to the Fokker-Planck (FP) equation is obtained.


A modified asymptotic method for a van-der-pol oscillator with large cubic restoring nonlinearity

A modified asymptotic method is proposed and applied to evaluate the frequency of self-excited oscillation in a Van-Der-Pol oscillator with large cubic restoring nonlinearity. The result obtained can be used for large enough nonlinearity.


Effects of shear deformation on large deflection behavior of elastic frames

In this paper, the effects of shear deformation on the large deflection behavior of elastic frames is investigated by the finite element method. A two-node nonlinear beam element with the shear deformation is formulated and employed to analyze some frame structures.


Influence of edge crack on frequencies of thin plate in bending

This paper investigates the influence of crack location and crack length on changes in natural frequencies of bending thin plate. To perform this analysis, a computing program called CRACK-PLATE, using the finite element method based on the RessnerMindlin' theory of plate is developed.

In this paper, the problem for determining the thickness function of shells of revolution such as a parabola, sphere arc! under axisymmetrical loads is considered. The general integro-differential equations for determination of the meridian form and shell thickness are obtained.


Using metis model to solve the torsion problem of a prismatic bar

This paper uses the metis displacement model to solve the torsion problem of a prismatic bar after transform this problem from 3D into 2.5D. The agreement of the results in this method with those in exact solution by the analytical method indicated the exactitude of this new model.


Turbulent burning velocity in combustion chamber of Si engine fueled with compressed biogas

The results showed that the turbulent burning velocity coefficient in this case is around 1.3 when the average engine revolutions is in the range of 3000 rpm to 6000 rpm with biogas containing 80% Methane. We can then predict the effects of different parameters on the performance of the engine fueled with compressed biogas by simulation.


Inverse kinematics of a serial parallel robot used in hot forging process

This modification of the structure could make it a bit of challenge in the system modelling and controlling. This paper addresses the inverse kinematics analysis that is the central issue for developing autonomous control modes of the robot application.


Engineering optimization by constrained differential evolution with nearest neighbor comparison

The algorithm is tested using five benchmark engineering design problems and the results indicate that the proposed DE algorithm is able to find good results in a much smaller number of objective function evaluations than conventional DE and it is competitive to other state-of-the-art DE variants.


Vibration analysis of beams subjected to random excitation by the dual criterion of equivalent linearization

In this paper responses of beams subjected to random loading are analyzed by the dual approach of the equivalent linearization method. The external random loading is assumed to be a space-wise and time-wise white noise in which the exact solutions of the modal equations can be found.
